Leadership - Slim
For the rankings or power on the ranch I think that Slim is highest rank and has the highest power. This happens during the time he met George and Lennie. "These guys jus' come, said Slim by way of introduction" (135). I think this because Slim was the first to introduce himself to George and Lennie. Another reason I think Slim is on the top because "Slim stood up slowly and with dignity." The text says he stood up with dignity, that means that he is honored and a leader. The last reason is that "Carlson stepped back to let Slim precede him..." Carlson let Slim go out first. This shows leadership because Slim went out first even though he was behind Carlson.
