2018 OMAM blog (F period)

In part 6 in of mice and men Lennie unexpectedly kills Curly's wife. In doing this Lennie runs away out of fear. Curly and some other men go to look for Lennie so they can kill him. George finds Lennie first and decides to kill him quick. I say that this was a good call because Lennie wanted it when he says "'Go on, George. Ain't you [going to] give me more hell.'" This is showing how Lennie Knew that people were going to hurt him so he let George do it first. From Georges perspective he knew it was the right thing because he heard Curly say "'I'm [going to] shoot the guts out of that big b****** myself.'" After George heard this he knew that Lennie was going to be in pain so he decided that to make Lennie not suffer to shoot him and kill him quickly with no pain.

In part four there is a scene with Lennie, Candy and Crooks talking with Curly's wife and it gets out of hand. it starts of with the wife asking, "'Any you boys seen Curly.'"{76} Candy sourly says no to get her away but she persists. Then when Crooks says that you should not be messing with them she snaps and says, "' think i'm gonna stay in that two by four house and listen how Curly gonna bring the old one two..."{78} This implies how she thinks it is annoying to live with Curly. but then she gets what she wants by making someone snap in this case it is Candy. he starts saying '" you ain't wanted here. We told you you ain't..."{79}This is exactly what she wanted so now she can go say bad things about candy. Once candy finished she decided that she got what she wanted and then left. This incident was a clear example of the wife trying to get people to yell at her so she can frame them. there are other examples in the beginn...

i think that slim was overreacting when curly asked about his wife. i think this because as slim states "Well i didn't mean nothing, Slim. I just asked you." this is referring to curly wondering where is wife is and he asked slim but slim got very mad with him. i think that slim should have just said no but he decided to make a huge scene and that could get Lennie hurt. slim was also overreacting when slim wanted to hurt curly i get that curly is annoying but that is making curly hurt Lennie more. that whole scene is all because of slim overreacting to curly and it could have been avoided.

I believe that candy is the only one at his job. i think this because candy doesn't mention anyone else that works with him. another reason is because all of the other workers have much different jobs and they don't  mention any other sweepers or cleaners. another reason is because that the job of a cleaner isn't very desired so i think that candy accepted any job he could get. even though there is no direct quote of my claim it isn't crazy to think that he is the only one. also candy's dog is old so i don't think people want to be around an old stinky dog. my final reason for this is because all of the characters say that candy stinks so i think that know one wanted to work with candy since he stinks.
